Hello folks,
I have tried now for approximately 8 months to get something worthwhile out of lulu.com's much touted set up for making individual DVD's on demand. So far, no luck at all. They claim to be allow to recieve a dvd via ftp or upload, but it seems clear enough their system simply cannot do what they say it can do. Too bad. Good concept, if only it worked.
So, anybody know of a system for producing dvd's on demand - one at a time, that really does work?
Any pointers would be much appreciated.
regards,
DAVE

Re: Any one know of a "print on demand" dvd source?
Mon, May 7, 2007 - 7:02 PMDave,
I installed a LightScribe DVD burner in my system. I burn the movie stuff on one side, then flip the disk over and use the laser to scribe an image on the other side. Shazam.
The LightScribe burner costs about fifty bucks and if bought in quantity, the disks are less than a buck each. And no label to go flying off in a drive.

Mon, May 7, 2007 - 7:37 PMI'm not really talikng about home DVD burners. I got one of those. I'm asking about a service that will make and ship out a dvd when someone orders it, the way lulu.com CLAIMs to be able to do, but can't actually do. -

Tue, May 8, 2007 - 8:23 AMNever used them. We have two commercial releases and we have those professionally pressed in lots of 1000. For onesie-twosie stuff, I use LightScribe DVD-R discs and I print Amaray inserts at Kinko's.
