Am I really lame or have they not created a product that will take actual MiniDV tapes and convert them to DVDs in one deck? I can't find this product anywhere and I'd like to get around having to have the camcorder on hand to make a DVD.
I have a deck that takes MiniDV tapes and converts to VHS... you'd think that this could be done too.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Re: MiniDV to DVD deck?
Thu, March 1, 2007 - 11:40 AMYes, pretty much any standard DVD recorder deck with composite or s-video inputs will record direct from the composite or s-video output of your MiniDV player direct to a DVD. -

Re: MiniDV to DVD deck?
Sun, March 4, 2007 - 11:59 AMOk - I found what I was looking for - JVC makes a stand alone video recorder with a miniDV drive and a DVD drive. Unfortunately, it's not cheap. I wanted something that would be super easy for the low-tech folks who will be using this in a library.

Re: MiniDV to DVD deck?
Thu, March 1, 2007 - 6:34 PMSoftware will do it too.
Nero 6 or better (Windows) can capture from tape and record to a DVD on the fly.
Once the DVD is made, you can always dupe it or keep the files for multiple copies.
