I live in Boston and I need this info on a company or group here in MA that handles this sort of procedure. I need some information or maybe a company that specializes in taking an 8mm video tape and pass it onto a DVD for viewing on a regular DVD player.
I have 12 8MM tapes that I took with my camera back in the 80's and I don't have the viewer anymore and buying one is really not what i have in mind. So if anybody has any idea or knows this kind of service I would really appreciate it. Thanks a million.

Re: 8MM to DVD
Wed, January 24, 2007 - 1:59 PMHey Juan,
Best way I found (i archived old family 8mm to DVD for a gift to my mom...i know, how sweet) was to have the 8mm transfered to Mini-DV. There's lots of places that provide this type of service...just google "8mm film transfer " Then, from mini-dv you can just capture into any video program a la, Final Cut Pro, etc and then just export to MPEG2 or drag the captured footage into a DVD Application and boom, your done...8mm film to DVD.
Bingo,
D
